Help us recognize local nonprofits
making a difference
To celebrate 90 years of serving our members and communities, Patelco is awarding $25,000 in community grants to nine local nonprofits nominated by members.
Here’s how it works

Nominate a Nonprofit
From October 27, 2026, through November 20, 2026, nominate a local nonprofit making a difference in your community by filling out the form below.

Selection Process
Eligible nonprofits will be reviewed using criteria focused on community impact, alignment with Patelco’s community values, and community reach.

Winners Selected
On December 2, 2026, Patelco will announce nine grant recipients and award $25,000 in community grants. Recipients will be shared via email and featured on Patelco.org.
Financial Education
We believe in financial education programs designed to meet people where they are in the community, delivered in a variety of learning modes and that are relevant to them.
Children’s Health and Development
We have a long history of supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through community events and fundraising campaigns along with major local hospitals.
Food Security
We believe in food security as a basic human right. Our partnerships with seven local food banks demonstrate our commitment to community health and at-risk populations.
Affordable Housing
We have a comprehensive partnership with Habitat for Humanity to live our mission of creating healthy and accessible communities for everyone.
Grantstakes nomination guidelines

Any current Patelco member may nominate an eligible nonprofit. Patelco employees are not eligible to submit nominations.
You don’t need to work for, volunteer with, donate to, or have any formal affiliation with the organization you’re nominating. You simply need to believe in the difference they’re making.To be considered, a nominated organization must:
Be an eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit
The organization must be recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity and be in good standing.
Serve a Patelco community
The organization must operate within 15 miles of a Patelco branch in California.
Support one or more of Patelco’s community values
The organization’s work must align with at least one of the community focus areas below.Nominations will be accepted between 10/27/2026 – 11/20/2026
Yes. More than one member may nominate the same organization.
No. The number of nominations an organization receives does not increase its chances of selection. All eligible organizations are considered using the same review criteria.
Patelco will review nominations for eligibility. Eligible organizations will then be reviewed by a group of Patelco employees using consistent criteria focused on community impact and alignment with Patelco’s community values.
No. Patelco will not notify every nominated nonprofit. Patelco will contact only the organizations selected to receive a grant.
Grant recipients will be announced on 12/2/2026 as part of Patelco’s 90th anniversary celebration. Check patelco.org and Patelco’s social channels for updates.
Every nomination helps Patelco learn more about the organizations making a difference in the communities we serve. While not every eligible nonprofit will receive a Grantstakes award, we appreciate members helping us shine a light on their work.
