Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit offers the convenience of having your payroll check automatically deposited into your Patelco checking or savings account, often hours earlier than you would receive a physical check.

To set up direct deposit, complete the authorization form1 and submit it to your employer. View the instructions below for the proper way to fill out your account number.

Convenient automatic transfer options for all of your accounts.

Automatic transfers, also known as automated clearing house (ACH) transfers, give you an easy way to move money between your Patelco account and accounts at other financial institutions.

You can use these transfers to make payments to your gym or utility accounts, or to transfer money into your Patelco account to make loan payments or open other accounts.

To set up an automatic transfer, complete the proper form1 (incoming or outgoing), sign it, and submit it to Patelco. If you have any questions about ACH Transfers, please visit a local branch or call 800.358.8228.

Payroll Disbursement

You have the option of dividing your paycheck (when using direct deposit) among your various Patelco accounts. To allocate payroll disbursements to any of your accounts, complete the disbursement form 1 and return it to Patelco.

Have several accounts that you'd like your paycheck to go into? This is the way to do it. Fill out the form and indicate which accounts you'd like your paycheck to be distributed to.

Overdraft Protection

With Overdraft Protection you can assign eligible savings accounts, credit cards, and line of credit accounts to cover you in case you don't have enough funds to cover a check, debit card purchase, or automatic withdrawal. We'll transfer funds automatically from the accounts you designate to your checking account so you don't have to worry. To set up Overdraft Protection, login to Online Banking at the upper right corner of this page and then click the "Services" tab. Or, call 800.358.8228.

Benefits Overdraft Protection provides you:
  • Peace of Mind – We know mistakes happen, but with overdraft protection you can have the peace of mind that your checks, debit card purchases, or automatic payments are covered in cases when you overdraw your checking account.
  • Save Money – Non-sufficient funds fees can be expensive and they can also add up. Overdraft Protection is a no- to low-cost alternative that will help you avoid those fees.
  • Free to have and very easy to sign up – If you link your savings account to your checking account you'll never pay a fee for using Overdraft Protection.

How Overdraft Protection Works:

  • If you attempt to make a purchase/payment in an amount that is more than the available balance in your checking account, funds will be transferred from the overdraft protection account to your checking account to cover the difference.
  • One overdraft protection account can be linked to more than one checking account for maximum coverage.
  • For the overdraft transfer to occur, you must have enough money in your savings account or enough available credit to pay at least some of the overdrawn checking items.

  1. Overdrafts from credit cards will be treated as Cash Advances and charged interest as such plus a cash advance fee for each instance in the amount of ether $2.50 or 2.5%, whichever is greater (maximum fee: $75).
  2. Overdrafts from a line of credit will not be treated as cash advances or charges as such but will accrue interest at your regular rate.

Electronic Transfers via Online Banking’s Money-Link-24 Service.

Transferring funds from one financial institution to another used to involve writing a check and then manually depositing it at the other financial institution, which took time and no small amount of effort. It’s a lot easier now.

MoneyLink–24 is a free service from Patelco that allows you to transfer funds between Patelco and other financial institutions from the comfort of your home or office.
